Disguise Watch always considered himself "not like other guys" in a sense. not in a unique, quirky, silly way or anything. He just felt different... off, somehow. It probably all tied back to his gear. Even just the idea that he was able to disguise himself encouraged this mentality that he could somehow get away with more. Even after attempt after attempt to push the limits of his ability proved futile, this perspective never changed. Some call Disguise a menace, others call him "just a silly jokester!". regardless of what you call him, however, what he actually is has always been evident. He is resilient. He is Willing to go up to the law and laugh in its face. If it werent for some deep-seated self-preservation instinct, he probably wouldn't even bother with the disguises or hiding his identity.
Publicly, not a lot is really known about Disguise's background. Most know that his gear allows him to change appearance at will. Pretty much everyone whose heard of the guy knows he's up to no good. But, people tend not to dwell on the "why" when it comes to his mischief. That being said, people typically don’t just go about their life for no reason, and with Watch, there will always be a reason. Disguise didn't have much of anyone to look to for support when he was younger. This was not for a lack of trying, of course not. It just gets hard to find someone to help you when you aren't even sure who "You" are. After all, his gear was basically an identity crisis strapped to his wrist. So, he started to make stuff up. When people asked who he was, he'd give a different answer every time. Once that started to become difficult to manage, It began to focus on more general unrest. After spending so long on all of that chaos, "Disguise Watch - Public Enemy" sounded a lot more appealing than everything else. Any option to make a name for himself and know what that name was seemed ideal above just letting himself fade into obscurity. Even if it didn't, there wasn't much of an option at this point. Spending so long essentially building an entire identity around becoming a menace to anyone you meet essentially guarantees that any chance of building a family of some kind is lost.
"no, I don't think that's right..." it was rare that Disguise found himself doubting his own skill and knowledge in a particular area. Regardless of if he actually knows what he's talking about, he would always at least try to sound knowledgable. So, to see him so deep in thought with so little explanation was a sight to behold. Or rather, it would be if he had been somewhere worthy of beholding. Some may ask what he's so concerned over. Perhaps a few would suggest he's plotting some grand scheme, or dreaming of some grand gesture of nonsense. However, these people would be incorrect.
"maybe this would be better, then..." Oh, perhaps its something completely mundane, then! Something as simple as chosing a breakfast cereal could be very silly in the correct context! Still, you would be incorrect. Though, you are on the right track.
the small watch with far too many hands to be actually used to tell the time ticks to life, and the young demon breathes out a sigh of relief. Gear maintenance is very important, after all. This is especially true when dealing with someone as truly careless with everything else. Disguise watch looks over at a functional clock on the table next to him. it reads "1:35".
"oh! huh..." the demon grabs his watch, slips it back onto his wrist and meanders over to a small, twin-sized bed. He climbs in, flicks off the light of his table lamp, and drifts into a short-lived slumber.
